Desexing & Surgery
Desexing
Desexing benefits both you and your pet. We know you want the absolute best for your furry friend, so we offer a range of extra services alongside desexing to keep your pet comfortable.
Our experienced team will walk you through the entire desexing process, including pre, during, and post-surgery.
When you book your pet in for desexing, remember they can’t get wet for 10 to 14 days after surgery. They may feel sick or irritable for those two weeks, too. After a surgical procedure, we all need a little extra time to get back to normal.
The price of desexing surgery ranges from $60 to $500 based on the species, gender, age, and size of your pet. Contact us for an exact quote.
Why desex your pet?
Stop unwanted litters
Prevent cancers and reproductive tract diseases
Fewer behavioural problems
Reduce aggression towards humans and other animals
Less roaming and escaping (especially in males during breeding season)
Get a discount on council registration fees
How we do desexing differently:
Pre-anaesthetic blood tests so your pet is fit for anaesthetic
Fluid therapy to replace fluids & electrolytes lost during surgery
Additional pain relief after surgery to keep your pet comfortable
Dental
Approximately 80% of dogs and 70% of cats suffer from dental disease by the time they turn three.
Like humans, pets are vulnerable to gum disease and dental problems. If you’re worried about your pet’s teeth, bring them in for a thorough clean and scale to remove the buildup of tartar and plaque. If your pet has problem teeth, we can also remove them.
Our clinic has state-of-the-art dental equipment. We perform our procedures while your pet is under anaesthetic for the most thorough and detailed exam possible.
Orthopaedic & Soft Tissue Procedures
It’s stressful having to deal with a sick or injured pet. Our top priority is always to get your furry friend back on their feet as soon as possible.
All our vets are highly experienced and our practice is equipped with a full surgical suite. We have all the equipment and experience we need to perform a wide range of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical procedures.
Orthopaedic procedures include:
Fracture repairs
Ligament repairs
Amputations for severe injuries or bone cancer cases
Soft tissue procedures may include:
Caesareans
Lump removals
